I really like the Dodge Sprinter Rvs. The only drawback is the labor is really expensive. I have had to replace the motor in mine and it was $13,000! I keep up on the maintenance by the book so I was surprised to see the motor go. Other than that I think the C class motorhomes are great if your looking for some good mpg's. I like your suggestion that you make a list of what you would like to do - also where you'd like to work and how much money you need to make. Go from there. I've worked in national parks as a paid seasonal - good money, paid vacation and sick days. We also sold Christmas trees, volunteered, did temporary work and worked for tourist businesses.
