Eliminate White Spots

02.13.2013 · Posted in Tips and Tricks

I Love a clean and shiny motor home. I hate waterspots
It happens every time I wash our coach. I wind up with white water marks when it drys and I need to wipe the coach down to get rid of them. The wiping is always a bigger job than the original wash job. At more than 40′ with 4 slides that’s a whole lot of wiping.

I had a fellow helping me wash my rig today and he suggested that instead of wiping it down we should be able to end the ugly water spots by spraying the entire bus with distilled water. It worked pretty good. I know that for sure when I found a couple of spots I missed. What a difference!

Here’s what I did:
I bought 3 gallon jugs of distilled water at Wal-Mart for 68 cents each. After we had rinsed off the soap, and before the RV had dried I sprayed it down with the distilled water. For our 40′ coach, I tried it with 3 gallons of distilled water. I could really see a difference on the areas I sprayed twice (like the windows) so next time I think I would try an extra gallon or two. The coach is not completely spot free but what remains is a lot easier to clean up than it would have been had I not sprayed.
I love our coach a lot more when it’s clean and shiny.
